Federal Division Champions!

STORM RAIN ON THE DODGERS IN FALL FINALE

Fall 2001 brought together the top two remaining teams in the Federal Division together at CSUN for the final game of the Year. The # 2 seed Storm facing the # 3 seed SCV Dodgers in a game that would come down to the last Inning. In the regular Season the two teams had met, with the Dodgers getting the upper hand in a 9 - 6 win and giving the Storm their second loss of the season. Today's Championship Game took the undefeated Edgar Vasquez who was looking for his 8th and final win of the season, and the Dodgers were not going out without a Battle starting their ace lefty. All game was tight with the Storm overcoming the 7th & 8th Innings with two crucial double plays by Billy Valencia and Chris Burton as well as Rick Fernandez keeping the Dodgers in check behind the dish. With the Storm down 8 - 7, bottom of the 8th, two outs, two on, lefty Marcos Vasquez who had a great season, hit a 2 run double to put the Storm ahead for good with the final score 9 - 8. Storm Head Manager Chris Burton Commented " We won all year as a team and today
